The rich continue to get richer.

On Thursday, Manchester United announced its financial results for the 2015 fiscal year and three months ended June 30, 2015, in which it was revealed that the club's board of directors approved the payment of a regular quarterly cash dividend on the company's outstanding Class A and Class B ordinary shares.

According to David Conn of the Guardian, the six children of Malcolm Glazer who own United - Avram, Joel, Kevin, Bryan, Edward, and Darcie - possess approximately 131 million shares (80 percent of the total issued), and will therefore each be paid £2.5 million per year as a result of the dividend, which is valued at $0.045 per share for the first quarter 2016.

Conn points out that this is the first dividend to be paid since the Glazer family floated United on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012, seven years after they purchased the club. He also mentions that the Glazers made £75 million selling a portion of their shares when they did so, one of a series of occasions in which the family has made money.
