Dick Advocaat didn't necessarily provide a ringing endorsement for his future at Sunderland following a series of questions from the media ahead of the team's fixture Saturday against West Ham United.

While he didn't exactly clear the air when asked about his longterm future, the Dutch gaffer discredited reports suggesting he will quit his role if Sunderland fails to win at the Stadium of Light.

"I always think in facts and the fact is it is now Friday and I am the manager of Sunderland, and I am the manager of Sunderland tomorrow as well," Advocaat told reporters.

Advocaat, however, wasn't willing to predict what might happen in the days, weeks, and months after the weekend encounter.

"What will happen on Sunday or a week on Sunday or nine months after Sunday, then I will tell you real story, but now I'm still here and nothing has changed."

His ominous comments follow a dreadful start to Sunderland's campaign, as the Black Cats sit at the bottom of the Premier League season through seven matches.

The awful season also follows a summer where Advocaat had intended to retire until he was convinced to lead the squad he helped avoid relegation last term.
