Police evacuate Anfield after man goes missing during stadium tour
Anfield was evacuated by police Tuesday as a precautionary measure due to security concerns.
Merseyside police confirmed to the Liverpool Echo that a man who was on a tour of the stadium went missing and is believed to still be inside Liverpool's iconic ground:
At 3:05 p.m., the club reported to Merseyside Police that the ground had been evacuated after a man who had been on a tour was unaccounted for and believed to be in the stadium.
The club cannot guarantee that the man has left the ground and therefore a search of the ground is underway.

The Echo's Laura Neve Tacey reports that the stadium car park is also being investigated following the "alleged suspicious activity" of a pair of men that police have not been able to locate.
Other fans taking a tour of the famous stadium, along with the staff, were forced to exit and wait in the rain while police searched the premises.

The Liverpool Echo adds that the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service was not called to aid police with the investigation.
Liverpool is not scheduled to play until Wednesday, when it hosts a League Cup tie against Bournemouth.
