Report: Tottenham's Townsend to seek move away during January transfer window
Andros Townsend's days in a Tottenham strip could be numbered.
The frustrated winger appears to be keen on a transfer and could be on his way out of White Hart Lane as early as January, according to Dominic Fifield of The Guardian.
A move away from the club appears to be inspired by a lack of playing time under manager Mauricio Pochettino. Townsend has only managed to appear in three of Tottenham's 11 matches following two seasons where he made 17 and 25 Premier League appearances, respectively.
Pochettino has, instead, preferred to deploy Ryan Mason, Ben Davies, and Josh Onomah, while Townsend has been limited to featuring in the Europa League.
Adding to the belief Townsend is close to a transfer is the supposed scuffle with a trainer. Images emerged after Tottenham's 3-1 win over Aston Villa showing the 24-year-old and fitness coach Nathan Gardiner getting into an altercation.
Townsend was seen pushing away from Gardiner after a heated discussion and appeared to engage in a shouting match with the coach before finishing his workout and returning to the dressing room.
