Liverpool's Sturridge to undergo scan on injured foot
The severity of Daniel Sturridge's latest injury should be revealed in the coming days, as the Liverpool forward gets set to undergo scans on his foot.
Sturridge, who was a surprise exclusion from Liverpool's squad ahead of the team's Europa League fixture with Bordeaux on Thursday, suffered the knock during shooting practice and appears to be a doubt for Sunday's match against Swansea City.
Manager Jurgen Klopp was unable to give a proper update on his striker, since the injury occurred during training.
"It's not a situation I saw," Klopp said. "We trained in two groups with the starting lineup and the other players. They were shooting. We can now start thinking about it - it was really close to the game. But there's no news at the moment - we have to wait."
Sturridge recently returned to the squad following a long layoff because of a knee injury. He was included in Liverpool's squad for its win over Manchester City, but was an unused substitute.
