Report: Chelsea at risk of losing talented youngster Charly Musonda
Chelsea could be on the verge of losing yet another talented youth product as Charly Musonda's frustration at a lack of playing time could spell the end of his time with the Blues.
After signing a new four-year contract in March, the midfielder has grown increasingly disenchanted with his chances of appearing in the first team and is attracting interest from other European clubs, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph.
Law suggests that talks regarding Musonda's future at Stamford Bridge will take place over the coming weeks as the January transfer window approaches.
Chelsea is reportedly "desperate" to retain the Belgium under-21 international, who's said by some scouts to possess more talent than Eden Hazard or Kevin De Bruyne did at a similar age.
A new deal could be in the works to retain Musonda, Law reports, with the possibility of a loan move to get the 19-year-old experience at the senior level.
Chelsea has a history of letting talented players such as Romelu Lukaku and De Bruyne depart because of a lack of first-team opportunities.
Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United have reportedly shown interest in Musonda, along with various other European powerhouses.
AS Monaco has also expressed an interest, according to Musonda's father, Charly Musonda Sr., who's previously urged his son to depart the defending Premier League champions.
"He must absolutely leave Chelsea and, since January, Monaco have been trying to sign him. Monaco are not alone but they truly want him," Musonda Sr. said.
"Chelsea don't want him to go back to Belgium. They want Charly to play in a good team in a big league. He must play for a first team. He progresses every day, but he must develop further."
