Carlisle United players volunteer to help community after local flooding
Carlisle United players won their FA Cup tie Sunday against Welling in the Greater London area, but way up north in Cumbria, close to the Scottish border, their home stadium took in several feet of water as the county dealt with its worst case of flooding in 30 years.
Three of the players had parked their cars at Brunton Park before making the trip down for the second-round match.
But that wasn't on their minds. Instead, the people back home drew their concern.

After discussions with the club's staff, Carlisle agreed to offer any form of support for those affected by the flooding.
"Clearing furniture, cleaning, tidying - anything that is needed and that will help," the club's official account tweeted.
The players and staff will be available following their training session on Tuesday, even if they have to make new arrangements just to practise.
"We'll go back tonight and get as close to the training ground as possible," manager Keith Curle told the the Guardian. "If we haven't got somewhere to train then we'll find somewhere on the outskirts of town. We'll be OK."
Almost 60,000 people were left without power, and the military were called to assist with the response. More than 1,000 residents had to be evacuated from their homes.
Brunton Park itself was submerged for the second time in less than a month.
