Bojan Krkic imagines Stoke City in Champions League: 'It can happen'
Back in 2007, at the age of 17 years and 19 days old, Bojan Krkic became Barcelona's youngest-ever performer in the Champions League, breaking the record held by Lionel Messi.
Eight years on, the Spanish forward is eyeing a return to the competition with Stoke City.
In an exclusive with Amy Lawrence of The Guardian that was published six days after Stoke's victory over Manchester City, Krkic revealed his aspirations for the Potters, and they somewhat incredibly include cold, rainy Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Britannia Stadium.
"Of course the goals can change and the club wants this, but I don't like to talk about this after a win against Man City. OK we did really well and won a really good three points but you have to be as good next weekend and the weekend after, and the one after that.
"Imagine if we play in the Champions League football at the Britannia Stadium in five years. It can happen. If you can say five years ago you would not imagine me to be here ... Who knows? Next year? Two, three, four years? Each player has to do their best to make these ideas come true."
Krkic's last appearance in the Champions League came in the group stage of the 2013-14 edition of the tournament, when he was on loan at Ajax and took the pitch in its scoreless draw at AC Milan.
