Although there seem to be many names in the hat over who could be Garry Monk's successor at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins hopes to have his man by next weekend's visit of West Ham, according to the South Wales Evening Post.

Club legend Alan Curtis will oversee the Swans' trip to Manchester City on Saturday following Wednesday's dismissal of Monk, but it is expected to be the 61-year-old's sole match in charge. Curtis is in his second caretaker spell after guiding the club for four games in 2004.

Manchester United assistant Ryan Giggs appears to be Jenkins' favourite for the role, but it's not known if the interest is reciprocated by the Welshman. Giggs is joined on the short list by other retired Premier League stars Roberto Di Matteo, Dennis Bergkamp, and Gustavo Poyet.

Spaniard Unai Emery, who has secured successive Europa League titles with Sevilla, and Chile's Copa America-winning boss Jorge Sampaoli are also thought to be in the frame.
