Stoke City's Erik Pieters signs long-term contract through 2020
Erik Pieters obviously doesn't mind the cold, rainy nights in Stoke-on-Trent.
On Saturday, ahead of Stoke City's Premier League fixture versus Manchester United, the Dutch left-back put pen to paper on a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the Britannia Stadium until the summer of 2020.

Pieters, who joined Stoke from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2013, has become a key figure under manager Mark Hughes, providing the Potters with a phenomenal defensive presence on the left side of the pitch.

"I can look forward to a bright future here now," Pieters said. "I love being here, I have enjoyed it from the moment I first arrived here and I think we will only continue to grow stronger together. From the moment we sat down to discuss a possible contract I really wanted to get it all sorted as soon as possible."
