Everton signs 17-year-old defender Matty Foulds out of Bury

Everton has completed the signing of young central defender Matty Foulds out of League One side Bury, the club announced Saturday.
Foulds, 17, joins the Toffees on an undisclosed fee after spending much of 2015 with Everton's U-18 and U-21 sides. The two clubs announced a deal would be in motion back in November and completed the signing early in the January transfer window.
Foulds made two senior-team appearances with Bury last season, featuring in a Capital One Cup match against Leicester City followed by a Johnstone's Paint Trophy match against Accrington Stanley.
He is primarily a central defender, but has been used as a left full-back as well.
