VIDEO: West Ham mascot leaves Dejan Lovren hanging

It's common to see young mascots, in awe of the professional footballers before them, shake hands or get a hug from one of them just before leaving the tunnel and going onto the pitch ahead of a match.

It appeared this youngster, awaiting kickoff between West Ham and Liverpool on Saturday, was excited to meet much-maligned reds defender Dejan Lovren.

Appearances can be deceiving.

Poor Lovren. At least he was able to chuckle about the snub.
