The longer end of that timetable would see the youngster miss 10 Premier League outings, and could prompt manager Remi Garde to get some business done in the January transfer window soon.
Although the 19-year-old has been limited to nine substitute appearances in the league this term, the €10-million fee paid to Barcelona in the summer for his services suggests he is highly regarded at Villa Park.
Aston Villa is in action Saturday when it makes the trip to League Two outfit Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup third round.
