Preston signs Ben Pearson from Manchester United
Ben Pearson has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with Preston North End, ending an association with Manchester United during which he picked up the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.
The 21-year-old midfielder already has 29 appearances under his belt this term from a loan spell at League One's Barnsley, and will now step up a level with Preston for an undisclosed fee.
"He's at the right age; wants to go and make a good career in the game and we are delighted that we have been backed by the owner to spend the money to bring Ben here. (We're) also delighted he has come here and committed his future to being a Championship player and beyond," manager Simon Grayson told the club website.
Pearson will wear the No. 4 shirt and is in contention for his debut in Tuesday's trip to Bristol City.
