West Ham full-back Stephen Hendrie joins Southend United on 1-month loan
West Ham left full-back Stephen Hendrie has been sent out on a one-month loan to League One side Southend United, the club announced Friday.
The loan, which is set to terminate on Feb. 16, will see the Scottish U-21 international join Southend United on an emergency basis. Hendrie joined West Ham out of Hamilton, where he had made 117 appearances.
"I spoke to his former manager, Alex Neil, to ask about the type character we're bringing in," Southend manager Phil Brown told the club website. "He says he's a solid character, reliable, got bags of energy and probably his biggest asset will be his legs, as he can run all day. ... He's got a great opportunity to get his career going in England at Southend United."
