Report: Manchester United exec Ed Woodward quizzes players about Louis van Gaal
With Louis van Gaal out of the country, Manchester United executive Ed Woodward reportedly took the opportunity to question players about the Dutch manager following yet another disappointing loss.
Saturday's defeat to Southampton at Old Trafford has triggered renewed calls for a managerial change at United, as the club remains without a Premier League win since Jan. 2.
Woodward is believed to have met with players and senior figures to discuss the team's run of poor results while Van Gaal visits the Netherlands to celebrate his daughter's birthday, according to Sky Sports.
The loss to Southampton triggered a toxic response from supporters around the stadium, as Van Gaal walked off the pitch to a chorus of boos and shouts from the stands.
Saturday's defeat leaves United in sixth place with 37 points - six points off last season's pace, when the club accumulated 43 points through 23 games.
