Barnsley signs Jak McCourt from Leicester on short-term deal

Barnsley has taken a chance on Jak McCourt, picking up the midfielder from Leicester City until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old joins for an undisclosed fee and could make his debut in the trip to Swindon on Saturday.

"I want to help the club get to where it wants to be," the Liverpool native, who'll wear no. 12, told the club website. "I like tough tackling and to get on the ball and play football, so hopefully I can get started soon."

McCourt already has three appearances for a League One club this term from a temporary loan spell with Port Vale.
