League Two's Mansfield Town has replaced the departed Nicky Hunt with Daniel Alfei, who joins the Stags on loan from Swansea City.
Former Bolton man Hunt signed permanent terms with Leyton Orient earlier on transfer deadline day, and it is hoped that 23-year-old Alfei's temporary move until the end of the season can successfully fill this void at right-back.
"Dan will fit into the way we want to play and has superb attributes," Mansfield manager Adam Murray told the club website.
"He is intelligent, an excellent footballer and will bring good qualities to our defence and will give us a good attacking balance heading forward."
Alfei could be handed his first opportunity in the lineup against Morecambe on Saturday.
