Tottenham Hotspur will be without midfield linchpin Mousa Dembele for up to four matches after he suffered a groin injury in his side's FA Cup defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The Belgian has emerged as a vital component of Spurs' unlikely yet increasingly convincing claims for a Premier League title challenge, but defensive duties in the middle will now be left largely to young English duo Dele Alli and Eric Dier for a few outings.
"Mousa we expect (to be out for) longer than Harry (Kane) - 10 days to two weeks," manager Mauricio Pochettino said, referring to the broken nose sustained by the similarly sidelined striker. "It's not a big issue, but similar to before. It's small but we have a lot of games ahead, so it's come at a very bad moment."
Tom Carroll, Clinton Njie, and Jan Vertonghen remain unavailable for Thursday's visit of Fiorentina in the Europa League, handing opportunities to youngsters Cameron Carter-Vickers and Shayon Harrison to make a push for the starting XI.
"We believe in them, believe they can help the team from here until the end of the season," Pochettino said of the pair. "They have potential to be players for us."
La Viola visit White Hart Lane in the Round of 32 second leg with the tie finely poised at 1-1.
