VIDEO: Another Mignolet howler puts Manchester City ahead in League Cup final

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet made a brilliant save to deny Sergio Aguero in the opening half of Sunday's Capital One Cup final against Manchester City, so naturally, the much-maligned Belgian undid his good work with a pitiful mistake in the second stanza.

Fernandinho gave the Citizens the lead in the 49th minute, thanks largely to the Liverpool shot-stopper's inability to effectively do his job.

Perhaps, given his history, we shouldn't be overly surprised:
