Ryan Bertrand has been forced to return to Southampton for treatment on an undisclosed injury, ruling him out of England's trip to face Germany in Berlin.
The left-back suffered the knock in his club's dramatic 3-2 defeat of Liverpool last Sunday, and although he'll miss Saturday's friendly, there's no word on whether he'll be available for the meeting with the Netherlands three days later.
Roy Hodgson has chosen not to replace Bertrand, leaving duties on that side of defence to Tottenham Hotspur's Danny Rose, who is now poised to make his international bow.
This weekend's match at great rival Die Mannschaft could also feature an England debut for Danny Drinkwater, who has starred in the midfield for league-leading Leicester City this term.
