Liverpool faces fitness concerns ahead of Tottenham tie
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi are in contention to suit up against Tottenham, but Christian Benteke has been ruled out of Saturday's fixture.
Klopp explained that Origi has the best chance at appearing in the match, while Firmino could struggle to regain fitness in time.
Firmino, who was forced to miss Liverpool's last match against Southampton because of a hamstring sprain, will face a lateness fitness test to determine his availability.
"Roberto Firmino will be close," Klopp told reporters. "We have to make a decision, maybe tomorrow - we will see. It's another 24 hours but we cannot bring pressure in this situation and we have to wait to see how he feels and other things."
Origi and Benteke picked up their respective knocks while on international duty with Belgium.
"We had smaller or bigger problems with the Belgian national player," the German gaffer added. "Divock Origi could not play the games for Belgium because of a little muscle issue. He has been back in complete training since yesterday, so he is available.
"It's completely different with Christian Benteke. In this moment he is not available, and we have to wait for further assessments to know exactly how long it will be. But for this game for sure, he has no chance."
