VIDEO: Charlton match delayed after fans throw small footballs on pitch

Charlton Athletic supporters interrupted yet another match out of protest.

This time, supporters used tiny footballs to bring Saturday's match against Birmingham City to a halt in the opening minute.

Hundreds of small footballs rained down from the stands and proved impossible for stewards to clean on their own, so players from both teams helped out.

Saturday's interruption is the latest action taken by disgruntled Charlton supporters who are fed up with the way owner Roland Duchatelet and CEO Katrien Meire are running the team.

Charlton's last match at The Valley was stopped in the opening minute, when fans began throwing beach balls onto the pitch. They previously held a mock funeral before the match, asking both Duchatelet and Meire to step down.
