Atletico Madrid's Costa ruled out with hamstring injury
Atletico Madrid will be without Diego Costa for the immediate future after the Spanish forward suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's draw with Girona.
Costa, who completed his move back to the Spanish capital from Chelsea earlier this month, limped off the pitch during the 61st minute of the 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The club did not disclose a date for his expected return, but Spanish outlet Marca reports Costa will be out for 10 days.
The injury will force Costa to miss Atletico's Copa del Rey tie with Sevilla, who holds a 2-1 advantage heading into the second leg. He's also expected to skip Atletico's next Liga encounter with Las Palmas on Jan. 28.
The 29-year-old has scored three times in five appearances since his return.
