Report: Real Madrid's Ceballos set to rejoin Arsenal on loan
Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is expected to rejoin Arsenal on loan for a second consecutive season, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano and Will Unwin.
The 24-year-old spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Gunners and made 37 appearances in all competitions despite suffering a long-term hamstring injury in November.
He made a particularly good impression on manager Mikel Arteta, who favored Ceballos in a midfield two with Granit Xhaka toward the end of the season.
"(Ceballos is) a player that we are interested in because we really saw, in the last few months of the season, what he is capable of bringing to us," Arteta told reporters last week.
Real Betis were considered a potential destination for Ceballos, but Arsenal's repeated attempts to re-sign the Spanish pivot have seemingly paid dividends.
Ceballos ended his first loan spell on a strong note, producing a team-high 13 chances in the Premier League since mid-June. He also helped the Gunners win a record 14th FA Cup on Aug. 1.
