Barcelona sign Pedri to new contract until 2026 with €1B release clause

Barcelona midfielder Pedri agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in the Catalan capital until 2026, the club announced Thursday.
The new contract includes a €1-billion release clause.

The 18-year-old joined Barcelona in August 2020 and appeared in a team-leading 53 matches during his first campaign at the club.
The central midfielder also made his senior debut for Spain in March before being named the best young player at Euro 2020.
Pedri ended the 2020-21 campaign as the European player with the most appearances for both club and country by featuring in 74 matches.
