Kylian Mbappe is pondering his next steps after receiving an offer to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and another to join Real Madrid as a free agent this summer, sources told ESPN's Julien Laurens and Rodrigo Faez.

PSG have reportedly offered to keep paying Mbappe an annual salary of around €37 million.

Madrid's proposal is worth less than the package they presented to the Frenchman last year, sources told ESPN. But the deal would still pay him more than Madrid's top earners, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, who bring in an estimated €10.5 million per season.

Madrid president Florentino Perez has also taken over negotiations with Mbappe and remains in contact with the player, according to Laurens and Faez.

Mbappe is free to speak with clubs outside of PSG because he's in the final six months of his contract with the Ligue 1 side.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said earlier this month the organization is the "best club" for the 25-year-old.

"He has the best training center in the world, the best coach in the world (in Luis Enrique)," Al-Khelaifi said. "Every year, he's sure of playing in the Champions League. We're in the last 16 at least, quarterfinals, even semifinals or final. We're there with the big clubs."
