Atletico force Real Madrid to extra time in Champions League

Atletico Madrid sent their Champions League last-16 tie against city rivals Real Madrid to extra time after Conor Gallagher's early goal Wednesday levelled the score 2-2 on aggregate.

England midfielder Gallagher struck just 27 seconds into the second leg at Atletico's Metropolitano stadium, erasing their 2-1 deficit from last week.

Vinicius Junior blazed over a second-half penalty for reigning European champions Real after Kylian Mbappe was fouled by compatriot Clement Lenglet.

The winners of the tie will face Arsenal next month for a place in the semi-finals.
