Czech Republic's Rosicky to miss remainder of Euro 2016 through injury

Tomas Rosicky will play no further part in Euro 2016 as the Czech Republic midfielder suffered a tournament-ending thigh injury in Friday's 2-2 draw against Croatia, according to the team's doctors.

It's yet another setback for the 35-year-old, who missed the majority of the last Premier League season with Arsenal. The Gunners are set to release Rosicky following a decade-long stay at the Emirates.

The former Borussia Dortmund man underwent knee surgery in August and then picked up a thigh strain in February as he attempted a full recovery.

He was included in the Czech Republic's 23-man squad after featuring for Arsenal's under-21 side, and played in his country's first two Group D encounters against Spain and Croatia.

Appearing in his fifth major tournament, Rosicky became the oldest player to represent the Czech Republic in any Euro.
