Portuguese phenom Sanches named Young Player of the Tournament at Euro 2016
Even when Germany loses, Bayern Munich still wins.
The Bundesliga behemoth stunned much of the football world when it swooped in, seemingly out of nowhere, to secure the signature of burgeoning superstar Renato Sanches earlier this summer, pipping the likes of Manchester United to the former Benfica wunderkind.
That move looks all the more prescient Sunday.
The Portuguese midfielder, 18, was named Euro 2016's Young Player of the Tournament, chosen above club teammate Kingsley Coman and Raphael Guerreiro.

The prize, open to those who are born in 1994 or later, was handed out after deliberation by the UEFA technical observers, led by UEFA's chief technical officer Ioan Lupescu and including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Alain Giresse.
Sanches was left on the bench early in the competition by Selecao boss Fernando Santos - a move that seems ludicrous with the benefit of hindsight - but eventually played an enormous role in helping Portugal reach the final.
A battering ram powered by a jet engine, the ebullient teenager created the winning goal in the Round of 16 clash with Croatia, scored the equaliser - and then converted his penalty - in the quarter-final triumph over Poland, and helped dictate play in midfield in the semi-final victory over Wales.
Not bad for someone who, to put things in perspective, was only 7 years old when Portugal reached the final of Euro 2004.
