It had to be the substitute.
Just when the final of Euro 2016 looked destined for penalty kicks, Eder, who surprisingly replaced Renato Sanches in the second half, received the ball with his back to goal, held off Laurent Koscielny, and smashed a 25-yard shot past the outstretched fingertips of Hugo Lloris in the 109th minute.
As he always does after scoring, Eder pulled on a white glove and celebrated by paying tribute to Michael Jackson.
The strike proved to be the lone goal of the match, as Portugal conquered France on Les Bleus' own soil to win Euro 2016.
