Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard reportedly withdrew his name from Team USA's roster ahead of the FIBA World Cup, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan, who was added to the training camp roster one month ago, also pulled out from consideration to focus on the upcoming season, Charania reports.
The losses further weaken a roster that already lost several other notable NBA stars, including CJ McCollum, James Harden, and Bradley Beal.
Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell is expected to remain with the team, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes. He'll have an opportunity to make a considerable impact, with several other elite offensive options not participating.
