Formula 1 is taking a strong stance on COVID-19 testing for anyone who intends to enter the paddock when racing resumes, according to director of motorsports Ross Brawn.
Brawn recently revealed everyone in the paddock will be tested before entering and will also undergo follow-up tests every couple of days to ensure safety.
"We’re working very closely with the FIA," said Brawn, according to Ryan Wood of Motorsport Week. "The FIA are doing a great job of putting together the structure that we need and everyone will be tested and will have clearance before they can go (to a paddock).
"Then every two days they'll be tested whilst in the paddock and that will be with an authorized authority and system. Certainly for all the European races we'll be using the same facility to conduct that testing and we can assure that everyone has been tested who is in that environment and tested regularly."
Brawn added there will also be restrictions on how people are allowed to move within the paddock to keep crews within what he described as "a small bubble" of team isolation.
F1 CEO Chase Carey announced last week that the organization intends to begin the 2020 season in Austria on July 5.
