Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix on Saturday after setting a track record at Spa-Francorchamps.

Hamilton dedicated the record lap to actor Chadwick Boseman, who died Friday after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

"I woke up to the sad news of Chadwick passing away. That news really, really broke me," Hamilton said after qualifying. "He was such a shining light. Wakanda forever. I just wanted to come out today and drive to perfection."
