Patricio O Ward: Fast Indy GP Practice

O'Ward was fastest in opening practice for the GMR Grand Prix IndyCar race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday. He turned a fast lap of 1:09.4981.

Analysis:

The lengthy session saw several drivers grouped in the 1:10 lap range, but as the session ended and teams opted for soft tires for qualifying runs, times would drop. O'Ward would post a late flying lap in his McLaren and edge Christian Lundgaard for the fastest lap of the Indy road course. His marker of 1:09.4981 would top the scoring pylon for the session. O'Ward will look to be a top contender to win Saturday's GMR Grand Prix.
