Lewis Hamilton: Podium at home race
Hamilton finished third at the British Grand Prix F1 race at Silverstone Circuit on Sunday.
Analysis:
One week after expressing significant displeasure with the pace of his Mercedes, Hamilton managed his fourth podium finish of the season. He benefitted from fortuitous timing, as a full safety car in the later stages of the race allowed him to pit for fresh soft tires and jump a number of the other top cars in contention for a podium. While a strong result, Hamilton will be disappointed he couldn't pass Lando Norris in the final laps of the grand prix to jump to second place. On the other hand, he did pick up significant ground on Fernando Alonso in the battle for third place in the driver standings and now has just a 16-point deficit to the Aston Martin driver.
