George Russell: Fades late on one-stop strategy
Russell finished seventh at the Japanese Grand Prix F1 race at Suzuka International Racing Course on Sunday.
Analysis:
Russell was one of only a few drivers to use a one-stop strategy, a call that ultimately cost him down the stretch. He faced team orders to swap places with Lewis Hamilton late in the race, which then left him vulnerable to Carlos Sainz Jr. of Ferrari -- ultimately moving him two spots down the grid. Russell continues to show excellent pace over one lap, but he has struggled to put it together during races, as he has now failed to finish inside the top five in five of his last six races.
