Toto Wolff isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

The Mercedes team principal signed a new contract extension to remain with the team through the 2026 Formula One season.

"At the end of the day, as a shareholder myself, I want the best return on investment," Wolff told The Telegraph's Tom Cary. "And the best return on investment is winning. I'm not going to try to hang on to a position that I think somebody is going to do better than me. I make sure that I have people around who can tell me otherwise. In the end the three of us decided: 'Let's do it again'."

Wolff has been at the helm of Mercedes since 2013 and led the team to eight straight constructors' championships from 2014 to 2021. Mercedes finished the 2023 season second in the constructors' standings behind Red Bull.

Despite failing to secure either the constructors' or drivers' championships in each of the last two seasons, Wolff indicated he doesn't face any performance clauses in his contract.

"I've never had a performance clause," Wolff said. "You either trust each other or you don't. And we are aligned as shareholders."

The 2024 F1 season kicks off with the Bahrain Grand Prix at the beginning of March.
