Pierre Gasly: Struggles in Bahrain GP

Gasly finished 18th in Saturday night's Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Analysis:

After a poor qualifying effort, Gasly would find himself starting 20th on the grid. The chaos of the opening lap would see the veteran Alpine driver grab a few spots up to P17 after the dust settled from turn 1. He would promote up to P12 as teams made their opening pit stops, but the long stint would not help. Gasly would struggle for pace in his Alpine, clearly at a disadvantage to most of the field. He'd slog home to a disappointing 18th-place finish after problems for Logan Sargeant and Valtteri Bottas would put them further back. Gasly will look to rebound next round out in Saudi Arabia.
