Verstappen says future is with Red Bull, suggests €250M not enough to switch
Max Verstappen isn't going to let money decide his future.
The Red Bull driver, who Mercedes is reportedly seeking as a replacement for the departing Lewis Hamilton, suggested that not even €250 million would be enough money to make him switch teams.
"My future is with Red Bull," Verstappen told reporters before this weekend's race in Miami, according to The Japan Times. "Money is not going to be a differentiator for me to go somewhere. I'm happy with what I'm earning right now.
"It's about performance. It's always about performance at the end of the day."
Rumors of a potential Verstappen switch have been rampant for much of the season amid internal issues at Red Bull.
Team principal Christian Horner was investigated following allegations of inappropriate behaviour toward a female employee, and legendary car designer Adrian Newey announced he would depart in the first quarter of 2025 because he was reportedly unsatisfied with the results of Horner's investigation.
Red Bull is also believed to be struggling in its development of a power unit for 2026.
Despite the turmoil, Verstappen is dominating the F1 season once again and won four of the first five races of the campaign.
