McLaren's Lando Norris made easy work of the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, winning the event by 20.945 seconds over Red Bull's Max Verstappen.

Norris' teammate Oscar Piastri finished third to round out the podium.

It was a near-perfect race for Norris, who started on pole and led from start to finish. However, he lost the fastest lap point when Daniel Ricciardo stole it from him on the final trip around the circuit.

Ricciardo pitted on the penultimate lap to earn the point and assist Verstappen in the driver's standings.

Norris did have a few interesting moments throughout the race: He clipped the wall at turn 10, which caused minimal damage to his right rear. He also locked up and nearly hit the barrier at turn 14 during one of his laps.

"It was an amazing race. A few too many close calls," the 24-year-old said after the event, also admitting he could have taken it easier but wanted to win by the largest margin possible.

Sunday's win helped Norris continue to close the gap on Verstappen in the driver's standings. The former is now 52 points behind the Red Bull driver for the top position.

McLaren also extended its lead to 41 points over Red Bull in the constructors' standings after Sergio Perez finished 10th.

Six races remain in the 2024 season, with the United States Grand Prix up next from Oct. 18-20.
