Nico Hulkenberg: Scores Points in Austin

Hulkenberg finished eighth in the United States Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

The Haas F1 veteran would start 11th on the grid after a decent qualifying effort. Hulkenberg would overtake Fernando Alonso in the opening laps as well as engage in a spirited battle with Yuki Tsunoda before opening pit stops. He would promote to P6 before stopping for fresh tyres on lap 27. The good pit strategy would put Hulkenberg on fresher rubber than most in the second half of the GP and that would allow the veteran driver to pick off a handful of spots. Despite losing one spot late to George Russell, he would still fetch P8 and the four points that go with that spot.
