Lewis Hamilton: Sets FP1 Pace in Vegas
Mercedes driver Hamilton set the pace during Thursday evening's first free practice session for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, comfortably leading the way from team mate George Russell and the McLaren of Lando Norris, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Both Mercedes would show good pace before the midway point of this opening practice on the streets of Las Vegas. As the closing minutes approached and teams bolted on soft tyres for mock qualifying runs, the lap times would tumble. Hamilton would rise to the top of the time sheets with a circuit of 1:35.001. He would beat out teammate Russell by nearly four-tenths to lead the session. Hamilton will look to challenge for his fifth podium of the season in the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
