George Russell: Wins Las Vegas Grand Prix
Max Verstappen became a four-time world champion with an assured drive to fifth place during Saturday night's Las Vegas Grand Prix, while pole-sitter Russell and the charging Lewis Hamilton earned a one-two finish for Mercedes, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Russell would have to hold off a furious challenge for the lead over the first 5 laps from Charles Leclerc, but he would successfully do so. From there it would be brilliant race management from the Mercedes star. Russell in the closing laps would hold off a big charge from teammate, Lewis Hamilton, and would hang on for a 7-second victory on the streets of Las Vegas. Mercedes would earn the 1-2 finish after a brilliant weekend.
