Max Verstappen: Fourth World Championship
Verstappen became a four-time world champion with an assured drive to fifth place during Saturday night's Las Vegas Grand Prix, while pole-sitter George Russell and the charging Lewis Hamilton earned a one-two finish for Mercedes, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Verstappen would yield spots early to the faster Ferrari's but he would seem to have better tyre wear, so gaining and holding track position would come through pit strategy. The Red Bull Racing star would eventually cede those spots to the Ferrari duo in the second half of the grand prix, but he would establish and hang onto P5 in the closing laps. Verstappen would finish one spot ahead of Lando Norris and that would be good enough to clinch his fourth consecutive world title.
