Carlos Sainz Jr: P3 on the Streets of Las Vegas
Sainz finished third in the Las Vegas Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on Saturday night.
Analysis:
Sainz started P2 after a strong qualifying effort. The Ferrari veteran would surrender one spot on the chaotic first lap to Charles Leclerc. Sainz would eventually grab that spot back despite battling harsh tyre degradation. He would ride behind Leclerc for the middle portion of the grand prix, but would get around his teammate after the second pit stop of the evening. Sainz would hold off Leclerc by nearly 2.5-seconds at the checkered flag to earn his eighth podium of the season.
