Pierre Gasly: Rebounds to Points in Qatar

Gasly finished fifth in the Qatar Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Lusail Circuit on Sunday evening.

Analysis:

The big mover of the evening in Doha was Gasly and his Alpine race team. The veteran driver started 11th on the grid and patiently race his way up to P8 before all the mid-race safety cars and stoppages. Gasly would emerge from his well-timed pit stop in eighth-place and hang onto that good track position going forward. He would hold off a fierce challenge from Carlos Sainz in the closing laps to secure an impressive P5 and 10 points after his early retirement from the Las Vegas GP last round.
