Hamilton finished 12th at the Qatar Grand Prix F1 race at Lusail International Circuit on Sunday.
Analysis:
Hamilton had one of his best races of the season in Las Vegas, but he had a disastrous weekend in Qatar. He finished sixth in the sprint race and started in the same position in the grand prix. Hamilton's downward slide began immediately from there, however, as he left the grid box too soon and was assessed a penalty even while losing three spots on the opening lap. He then suffered a tire puncture on Lap 34 while trying to run a long stint on medium tires, only to draw another penalty for speeding on pit lane. It certainly wasn't the way Hamilton wanted his penultimate race with Mercedes to unfold.
