Carlos Sainz Jr.: Three-Place Grid Penalty
Sainz has been issued with a three-place grid penalty for impeding Lewis Hamilton during Q2 of Saturday's Qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix, meaning that the Spaniard will drop from P12 to P15, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:
Sainz, unfortunately, obstructed Lewis Hamilton during Q2 while the Ferrari star was on a push lap. The Williams veteran was slowly navigating turn 1 when Hamilton encountered him in the apex of the turn. The stewards investigated after qualifying and found that Sainz impeded Hamilton and will be assessed a three-spot grid penalty. He will now start 15th on the grid in Sunday's Japanese GP.
