Esteban Ocon: P8 in Bahrain GP

Ocon finished eighth in the Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Sakhir Circuit on Sunday evening.

Analysis:

The Haas F1 veteran started 14th on the grid and employed an undercut strategy on his opening pit stop. Ocon would divert to pit lane on lap 8 for fresh rubber, well ahead of most of the field. It would seemingly work like a charm and allow Ocon to drive up to P6 on fast tyres during the bulk of green-flag stops. He would hang onto that track position gained thanks to a mid-race safety car and good driving. Down the stretch Ocon would hold off a hungry Yuki Tsunoda to earn P8 on the Sakhir Circuit.
